The Windmill Corner Inn is the place to call home-base while taking advantage of all that the area has to offer. While one of the favorite activities of our guests is "porch sitting" - here in Strawberry we are at the heart of many trails and areas to hike, bike, fish, and explore. Or, amble through little shops which have antiques and collectibles, pottery, fine arts, handmade crafts and gourmet foods. Stop at the fudge shop or the old fashioned soda fountain and relax into the pace of a small town.
Strawberry and Pine restaurants offer many great choices for dining and relaxing. Ask us for a copy of the community guide.
The historic General Crook Trail winds along the brink of the Mogollon Rim and the historic Highline Trail hugs the base of the Rim. Both are now a part of the Arizona Trail. www.aztrail.org The Trail is a continuous 817 mile diverse and scenic trail across Arizona from Mexico to Utah. Currently 95% complete, it links deserts, mountains, canyons, communities and people. And the Pine Trailhead is just a short drive away. (I'm happy to shuttle.)
Fossil Springs Wilderness area is also one of our favorites, a lush environment at which you can swim, picnic, study fossils, or explore the waters of the travertine pools along the creek.
